4 DAYS LAKE NAKURU AND MAASAI MARA SAFARI:

1

DAY 1: NAIROBI – LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

The trip will start off with an early morning departure from Nairobi, heading west towards Nakuru town. On the way, a stopover will be ideal for a photo session over the panoramic Great Rift Valley Escarpments. This offers a breath-taking view of the far-reaching savanna plains below, broken by the meek Mount Longonot in view. The voyage will then proceed to cascade down the escarpments, to the Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge, right at the heart of Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrival time is estimated to be just in time for lunch and refreshments. Guests may thereafter check in to their hotel rooms and prepare for an afternoon game drive through the park.
The park encircles Lake Nakuru, a large but shallow fresh water lake that supports a robust biota, and is a world-renowned bird haven sanctuary. Notably, it is home to the greater and lesser flamingo species, giving the shores beautiful bright pink hue. The game drive will offer a chance for game viewing, particularly endangered white rhinos, waterbucks, warthogs, hippo territories, impalas, buffalo, Rothschild giraffes and many more. The evening will conclude with a drive back to the lodge, for dinner and an overnight stay.
